Mayor,

Daryl, Troy, and I had a conference call with JPR this morning regarding potential projects on West Eighth Street and West Fifth Street.  We made it clear that the City was interesting in both projects, but unclear which one would take priority until a few other things shake out.

The next steps are as follows:

  • Engineering will email JPR some GIS maps showing the street segments, potential property acquisition, and utilities.
  • BPD will reach out to our OCRA community liaison regarding eligibility for an MSRP project (like what was used on Sixth Street).
  • JPR will reach out to the grant administrator we used on that project (Kristi Sturtz) for some general discussion.
  • JPR will generate a proposal for our consideration.  The proposal will include development of schematic level drawings and budget figures that could be used for the grant submittal.  They will include with Eighth and Fifth in their proposal, but will make sure the costs are separate should we be in a position to prioritize one over the other.

Please let us know if there are questions.  We will let you know when we hear back from JPR.

All the best,
